Assorted progress on the Lottie

Theres always plenty to do, planning the next crop, planting out, or modifying the plot.

Today I made the front fence raised bed, I planted a fragrant climbing rose in it, along with some African marigolds

Greenhouse number two is almost fully planted with Tomatoes, Peppers, a Cucumber plant and some African marigolds. The marigolds are a good plant to deter whitefly.
The Potatoes are now growing well, as are the Runner beans.

The summerhouse is progressing nicely, we have a new veranda  post to replace the rough one that was used as a temporary measure. We have made flower beds at each side. These are to accommodate, Sunflowers, Clematis and Honeysuckle.

Felting the Summerhouse

After a wild and windy night, the weather settled down nicely this afternoon. Calm and warm, it was ideal for applying roofing felt.
Aided by my trusty helper , Sharon, we got the felt on in record time, all thats left to do is tidy the edges and add some batten.

We even did a test patch for the new colour !

Things are really starting to move now the weather is warming a little.

More paths

Now that the last of the heavy digging is over, I was able to finish the paths today.
We were lucky enough last week to win about a hundred eighteen inch square paving slabs from free cycle, only a year old and in perfect nick they were ideal for the job.

A fellow plot holder took this one of me surveying my work

Like all my paths, not quite straight but eminently suitable for the job

A view from the top of my compost bins

And a slightly squiffy wide angle shot showing almost the whole of the plots

A long day digging

The final bed to be dug required a long days work, starting at 7.30 and finishing at 5.00pm. With about six and a half hours digging, I think I got my exercise for the day LOL.
This is the last of the really heavy work and now the fun starts doing all the smaller jobs and fitting out the sheds so that I don't keep losing tools etc.

The final bed finished, just the path to sort out.
The warm weather has got everything growing nicely.

Summerhouse veranda

I've made a start on the veranda roof today.

The bad news is a young rabbit has got into the plots and eaten some of our Parsley plants, think I may have to upgrade part of the fence between us and plot 5.

Everything is growing well, the cold frame is full of plants nearly ready to go out, but not until the Rabbit is gone !

Brussels, spring cabbage, savoy cabbage, lettuce, Beetroot
